Please Note:

We will be unable to offer the satellite symposium, originally scheduled for Sunday March 28th from 10:00 -12:00h due to a critical and unforeseen speaker conflict. Instead, we will offer the Pre-Conference Symposium, originally scheduled for Saturday March 27th from 13:00 - 17:00h, in the Sunday morning time slot. This symposium is entitled, "Advancing Population-Based Research on Therapeutic Interventions by Accounting for Sex and Gender." It will be held on Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00h. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

CAPT is pleased to announce that the following presentation awards will be made at the conference:

Best student podium award: This award is for excellence in an oral presentation by a student. The winner will receive $200.00.

Best student poster award: This award is for excellence in a poster presentation by a student. The winner will receive $200.00.

CAPT STUDENT TRAVEL BURSARIES

CAPT 2010 Studentship Application Form

Full-time students presenting a poster or paper at the conference are eligible to receive a student travel bursary to help offset the costs of registration and travel. Application forms will be provided to presenting students by e-mail upon abstract acceptance.

2009 Annual Conference

The 2009 Annual Conference was held April 19th - 21st, 2009 in Montreal, Quebec at Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth Hotel. The theme of the 2009 conference was "A Look to the Future: Medication Use, Safety and Effectiveness under Economic Uncertainty." The meeting brought together Canadian academic researchers, federal and provincial policy makers, pharmaceutical industry representatives, and other experts. 5th Annual Canadian Therapeutics Congress

The 5th Canadian Therapeutics Congress was held during the IXth World Conference on Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (CPT) in Quebec City from July 27 - August 1, 2008. As in past years, the Congress brought together CAPT, the Canadian College of Clinical Pharmacy and the newly merged Canadian Society of Pharmacology & Therapeutics (previously Canadian Society of Clinical Pharmacology/Pharmacological Society of Canada). In addition to providing a unique forum for linking academia, industry, and government sectors, registrants were able to hear world class speakers and participate in symposiums organized by CPT.

CPT 2008 was organized by the Canadian Society for Clinical Pharmacology (CSCP) and the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), under the auspices of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) incorporating the 5th Canadian Therapeutics Congress (Canadian Society for Clinical Pharmacology, Canadian Association for Population Therapeutics, and the Canadian College of Clinical Pharmacy). Dr. Mitch Levine represented CAPT on the Committee.

The CAPT program was held on Monday, July 28th, 2008. The scientific Committee comprised Daria O'Reilly, Nicole Mittmann, Angela Rocchi, and Michael Iskedjian. Dr. Mitch Levin represented CAPT on the Committee.

4th Annual Canadian Therapeutics Congress

The 4th Annual Canadian Therapeutics Congress was held from May 27th - 30th, 2007 at the Westin Nova Scotia, Halifax.

The theme of the 2007 congress was "the virtuous circle: Therapeutics from molecule to patient to population and back," with sub-themes on therapeutics for vulnerable populations, therapeutic innovations; human resources in drug evaluation; health technology assessment; information technology; drug policy; and advances in therapeutics education.
