The Canadian Journal of Clinical Pharmacology
Our mission at CAPT is to advance the sound development of population-based studies of therapeutic interventions and to provide a forum for the reporting, scientific discussion, and dissemination of the data derived from such studies, as an information resource for medical decision-making in the best interests of the individual patient and the public well-being.

As the national voice of population therapeutics in Canada, CAPT is committed to fostering ongoing networking between practitioners, researchers and policy makers, and increasing the visibility and recognition of the organization. Over the past year, the Board has surveyed the membership on future directions for CAPT. In June 2008, the combined 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 Board members held a strategic planning session to incorporate membership responses into revitalizing the mission, vision and values of the organization. Over the coming year, you will notice exciting changes to the CAPT website as well as to our online journal Canadian Journal of Clinical Pharmacology.

To reflect this renewal process, the new MISSION of CAPT is to advance population-based research of therapeutic interventions to improve the health outcomes of Canadians by:
  • Bringing together diverse perspectives
  • Facilitating open exchange of ideas and collaboration, and
  • Influencing policy and practice
The VISION of CAPT is to become the recognized Canadian leader for linking population-based therapeutic research, policy and practice to optimize health outcomes.
