Canada's Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D)
Rx&D is the national association representing this country's 62 research-based pharmaceutical companies. Over 10,000 Canadian medical researchers are employed as a result of member companies' investment in Research & Development. Member companies share a single primary objective: to discover new medicines that improve the quality of health care available for every Canadian.

Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH)
CADTH’s mission is to provide timely, relevant, rigorously derived, evidence-based information to decision makers and support for the decision-making processes.

The Canadian Health Services Research Foundation (CHSRF)
Links to associations, databases and other data retrieval resources, evidence-based healthcare resources, funding agencies, government agencies, health ministries, journals and research centres. All these links have met strict criteria for inclusion.

Canadian Institute for Health Information
CIHI is a federally chartered but independent, not-for-profit organization. It brings programs, functions and activities from The Hospital Medical Records Institute (HMRI), The MIS Group, Health Canada (Health Information Division) and Statistics Canada (Health Statistics Division) together under one roof. CIHI's core functions are: identifying health information needs and priorities; collecting, processing and maintaining data for a comprehensive and growing number of health databases and registries, covering health human resources, health services and health expenditures; setting national standards for financial, statistical and clinical data as well as standards for health informatics/telematics; and producing and disseminating value-added analysis.

Canadian Society for Epidemiology and Biostatistics
The Canadian Society for Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CSEB) is a Canadian organization founded in 1990 for the purpose of fostering epidemiology and biostatistics research in Canada. The Society facilitates communication among epidemiologists and biostatisticians, and assists faculty or schools of medicine and public health to improve training in these disciplines.

Centre for Evaluation of Medicines
A multi-disciplinary resource since 1993, CEM provides expertise in clinical pharmacology and toxicology, economics, health policies, behavioral sciences, information technology, research design and biostatistics.

EPICORE Centre
Epidemiology Coordinating and Research (EPICORE) Centre, Division of Cardiology, University of Alberta is a clinical trials and health outcomes coordinating centre.

Health Canada's Therapeutic Products Program
Health Canada's Therapeutic Products Programme (TPP) is the national authority that evaluates and monitors the safety, effectiveness, and quality of drugs, medical devices and other therapeutic products available to Canadians.

The Health Evidence Applications Linkages Network (HEALNet)
A national network of researchers from disciplines throughout the health, social and applied sciences, whose common aim is to better the health of Canadians by improving decision-making at all levels in the health care system.

The Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES)
Conducts research that provides information and evidence with a view to protecting and improving the effectiveness, quality, equity and efficiency of health care in Ontario.

The Institute of Health Economics
The Institute of Health Economics is an international centre of excellence in health and pharmaceutical economics, outcomes, and policy research based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The work of the IHE in research and research methodologies, policy analyses, educationand training, and knowledge transfer contributes to the efficient and effective use of health care resources. A not-for-profit organization,the IHE is distinguished by a university-government-industry partnership, and by the affiliation of 34 world-class research fellows. International Health Economics Association
This is an international society created to increase communication between health economists, to foster a higher standard of debate about and application of health and health care economics, and to assist young researchers.

International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology

Therapeutics Initiative
Provides physicians and pharmacists with up to date, evidence based, practical information on rational drug therapy. The Initiative is an independent organization, which is at arms length from government, pharmaceutical industry and other vested interest groups.
